Hence these kinds of shawls were always made from hand spun yarns .Articles woven from hand spun yarns are more coarse and does not possess shine.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis shawl is densely woven , has gone through post weaving washing process . Hence it has a soft texture and drape .\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eEri silk is procured from the caterpillar Samia Cynthia  Ricini and is found in the north eastern state of Assam and nearby region.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eUnlike other silks, it does not have any sheen as the silk is obtained from naturally raptured cocoons , hence also known as Ahimsa Silk .  It has very subtle sheen . Eri looks and feels like fine cotton but has the properties of silk .
