Beautifully woven hundred percent silk saree from our looms in Assam , India .
The saree has mulberry spun silk in the warp and eri silk in the weft and all the interwoven motifs in Muga spun silk.
All the yarns have been natural dyed using locally available flowers and plants . The motifs that are in brown colour is Muga Spun silk .
Spun silk is derived from the short fibres of cocoon waste of silks like Mulberry and Muga . Spun silk does not have the typical bright sheen that is associated with mulberry or Muga silk .
And Eri Silk inherently doesn't have shine like other silks . Hence the Saree does not have the typical shine like other silk saris made from mulberry silk yarns .
Eri Silk is an indigenous Silk variety from India found in Assam and some other North Eastern States. The lack of sheen is typical of Eri Silks. Eri Silk is also known as peace silk or Ahimsa silk .
Eri Silk looks and feels like cotton but has the unique properties of silk . Eri Silk is a all weather silk .It blends beautifully with other silks like mulberry or tassar . In this case the combination of mulberry spun and Eri creates a very unique texture .
The saree is more suitable for slightly colder time of the year ( India ) and good for any formal or semi formal occasion .
It has a blouse piece that comes with a border and all over motifs as shown in the images.
We try to capture the exact colours but due to lighting issues , there may be slight difference of colour between the actual product and that of the image.
Wash Care - Dry Clean Only.
Please check with us the availability of the saree before placing the order as we may sell it out from our other channels. In case of Made to Order - it may take us up to 2 months to deliver .
