Handwoven fabric / yardage from our looms in Assam , India.
The material has Eri Silk in the warp and cotton in the weft and motifs in either cotton or eri silk .
Eri Silk and cotton blends well together as Eri Silk looks and feels like cotton but has the properties of silk . Eri silk is procured from the caterpillar Samia Cynthia Ricini and is found in the north eastern state of Assam and nearby region.
Unlike other silks, it does not have any sheen and the silk is obtained from raptured cocoons. Historically Eri Silks was used to make shawls and other similar articles for winter .
The fabric is appx 3 mts in length and 36" width .
It is good for dresses , blouses , skirts etc.
Wash Care - Can hand wash . Wash separately . Do not wring .
