The Sari has Tassar Silk in the warp and Eri silk in the weft and all interwoven motifs in cotton .
Since Eri Silk is there, the sari does not have the typical sheen that is associated with Silks from India. Eri Silk is an indigenous Silk variety from India found in Assam and some other North Eastern States. The lack of sheen is typical of Eri Silks.
Eri silks are easier to care for than mulberry silk. They also have anti fungal properties that makes it excellent for anyone with skin allergies towards silks or other fibres
Eri Silk feels & falls like cotton but with inherent silk properties.
Hence , the sari doesn't have the typical shine of saris associated from India . The saree has a crisp hand feel due to the presence of tassar silk .
The Sari has a blouse piece with borders .
