Hundred Percent Pure Tassar  Silk Saree from the looms of ASSAM.

The Saree is in the most traditional  Red and Golden combination .

Tassar silk is widely used as a replacement for Muga silk in Assam as Muga silk is very expensive and colloquially called "tass muga ".

Tassar Silk -  The Tassar Silk moth is basically a wild moth. Hence it is categorised as Vanya Silk or Wild silk by the silk board of India.(http://csb.gov.in/silk-sericulture/silk/vanya-silk/).

The yarn produces is a natural brownish or off white  colour. Tassah silks in their natural colour can be termed as Organic Silk as no chemicals have been used in the cultivation of host trees or in the processing of silk fabrics.. Most Tassar rearing and cultivation is still done by village clusters in the tribal regions of Jharkhand ,Chattisgarh & West Bengal   in the traditional method. In this case , the yarns have been dyed .

The motifs and designs are very traditional . The motifs are in Acrylic yarns .

The Saree comes with a plain  Silk blouse piece with borders.  You can also wear it with any contrast coloured matching blouse or jacket. The blouse in the image is only for photography purposes .

The material has a slight crisp feeling that will soften over a period of time.

Please note the saree has attached borders .

We try to capture the exact colours but due to lighting issues , there may be slight difference in colours between the actual product and that in the image.

Saree Length - 5.5 mts , Width - 45 "
