It has Modal in warp and mulberry silk in weft . All the extra weft motifs are in natural off white colour Eri Silk with touches of silver zari.
Modal is a manmade fibre made from wood pulps . It is soft and cool and ideal for summer wear .
The set has a blouse piece in pink with borders .
Mulberry silk is locally known as Pat Silk .
The set is ideal for any formal occasion especially for daytime summer wear. The settings of the design and the colour scheme will be considered more contemporary than traditional .
The Mekhla and Chador is a traditional 2 piece dress from the North East State of Assam, India . The Mekhla is appx 1.20 Mt in length and 37" width when stitched. The Warp will have pleats when worn. The top part or 'chadar ' is a shawl or half -sari which is used to cover the upper portion of the body and is worn on top of the mekhla or wrap. The usual size is 3 Meters long and about 37 inches in width.
