Handwoven silk saree from our looms in Assam , India .
The saree has mulberry silk in the warp and eri silk in the weft and all the interwoven motifs in acrylic.
All the yarns have been natural dyed using locally available flowers and plants .
Since Eri Silk is there, the dress does not have the typical sheen that is associated with Silks from India. Eri Silk is an indigenous Silk variety from India found in Assam and some other North Eastern States. The lack of sheen is typical of Eri Silks. Eri Silk is also known as peace silk or Ahimsa silk
Eri Silk looks and feels like cotton but has the unique properties of silk . Eri Silk is a all weather silk .It blends beautifully with other silks like mulberry or tassar . In this case the combination of mulberry and Eri creates a very unique texture .
The saree is an all weather sari and good for any formal or semi formal occasion .
Eri silks are easier to care for than mulberry or Tassar. They also have anti fungal properties that makes it excellent for anyone with skin allergies towards silks or other fibres.
It has a blouse piece that comes with a border.
