Handwoven Natural dyed and Eco Printed Eri Silk Shawl from our looms in Assam , India
The base material is hundred percent Eri Silk . The shawl has mill spun eri silk in the warp and hand spun eri silk in the weft that lends the shawl a unique texture .
The Eco print has been done with locally available plants and flowers .
Eri silk is procured from the caterpillar Samia Cynthia Ricini and is found in the north eastern state of Assam and nearby region. Eri is also categorised as Ahimsa or Peace Silk as it is one of the rare silk that is procured from ruptured cocoons. Hence it is always spun silk .
Eri Silk inherently does not have any bright sheen. It always has a very subtle sheen . It looks and drapes like cotton but has all the inherent silk properties.
