Natural Dyed Indigo Handloom Eri Silk Sari from Assam

A genuine handloom product from the looms of Assam, India.

The Sari has Natural Indigo Eri  silk in the warp and  the weft and the interweaving motifs are in natural dyed Eri Silk  and Tassar Silk. 

The saree has been woven in a time consuming manner where the back side is clean and the borders have been woven along the saree. 

Since Eri Silk is there, the sari does not have the typical sheen that is associated with Silks from India. Eri Silk is an indigenous Silk variety from India found in Assam and some other North Eastern States.  The lack of sheen is typical of Eri Silks. 

Eri silks are easier to care for than mulberry or Tassar. They also have anti fungal properties that makes it excellent for anyone with skin allergies towards silks or other fibres

Eri Silk feels & falls like cotton but with inherent silk properties. 

The sari is very soft , light weight and airy . Falls beautifully . And very easy to handle. It is very lightweight . 

Please note that the saree does not have a blouse piece . We can provide a Eri silk blouse piece . There may be colour difference between the blouse piece and the saree as they will be from two different lots .

We try to capture the exact colours but due to lighting issues , there may be slight difference of colour between the actual product and that of the image. The yellow colour is on the brighter side .
