Handwoven Cotton Silk Shawl / Dupatta with cotton motifs from Assam , India.
The off white colour is the natural colour of the Eri Silk .
Since Eri Silk is there, the shawl / dupatta does not have the typical sheen that is associated with Silks from India. Eri Silk is an indigenous Silk variety from India found in Assam and some other North Eastern States. The lack of sheen and slight coarseness/ dryness is typical of Eri Silks.
Since Eri silk is present , it has a slight coarse and uneven surface . Eri is very easy to use with other silks and natural fibres like cotton and linen .
Eri Silk is easier to take care of than other more delicate silks like Mulberry Silks. The production of Eri Silk is still majorly an indigenous activity of the tribal people of the region.
Perfect as a gift item or everyday use. It doesn't need too much special care .
Length - Appx 250 CM . It is long enough to be used as a Dupatta with Indian traditional kameez.
Width - Appx 80 CM
As a shawl , it is not meant for heavy winter . Only for indoor settings or mild temperatures.
Please note that there may be some difference in colours between the product in the photograph and the actual product due to lighting issues and presence of silk .
Wash Care - Hand Wash . Wash Separately using mild detergents . Wash in normal temperature water and dip it only for few minutes. There may be slight discharge of colours . Shade Dry . Do not wring .
Or Dry Clean .
