Handloom Silk Saree from the looms of Assam, India.
The saree has Mulberry Silk in the warp and Tassar Silk in weft . Mulberry Silk is also known as Paat Silk in Assam. The motifs have been woven in cotton .
The design and colour schemes are more contemporary and the saree can be worn for diverse occasions.
The Sari has a blouse piece of the same colour and with wide borders .
The Sari is very light weight and easy to carry , wear and take care of .
We try our level best to capture the exact colours but due to the presence of silk and lighting effects, there could be very minor difference between the actual colour from the image colour.
Also note that these are handwoven products involving delicate yarns like silks and sometimes involving silk yarns that have very different properties .Hence ,there will be inconsistencies in surface . In this case the warp yarns are mulberry silk which is smooth and very uniform in fineness but the weft yarns are tassar silk which is slightly uneven and crisp . This gives the saree slightly uneven colour and texture widthwise . That has it's own unique beauty and charm and makes each saree different from the other . These products will not have the kind of smoothness as you may find with power loom products .
