The Saree has Cotton in the warp and Eri in the Weft .
Assam has a rich textile and seri culture history . It is one of the few states in India that produces and weaves all the four commercial varieties of silks . Mulberry , Tassar , Eri and Muga . Eri and Muga are indigenous to the North east region of India , particularly to the Assam Valley.
Eri Silk does not possess the bright sheen that is associated with mulberry . It has a very subtle sheen . It looks and feels like cotton but has the inherent properties of silk . Also known to have anti-fungal properties. Hence ,it combines very well with cotton.
The Saree has a very dense Pallu that has been woven with the typical tribal motifs of the region .
It comes with a plain blouse piece with borders.
