A genuine handloom product from the looms of Assam, India.
The Sari has raw mulberry silk in the warp and eri silk in the weft and the interweaving motifs in Muga Ghicha silk. Raw mulberry silk is locally known as ' Nooni '.
All the yarns are in their natural colours . Eri silk comes in natural off white and light brown colours . Here we have used natural brown eri in the weft .
Muga Ghicha silk is procured from the cocoon waste of muga . It is hand spun , is rougher and drier in texture than the filament muga silk and comes in varied shades of browns .
Since Eri Silk is there, the sari does not have the typical sheen that is associated with Silks from India. Eri Silk is an indigenous Silk variety from India found in Assam and some other North Eastern States. The lack of sheen is typical of Eri Silks.
Eri silks are easier to care for than mulberry or Tassar. They also have anti fungal properties that makes it excellent for anyone with skin allergies towards silks or other fibres
Eri Silk feels & falls like cotton but with inherent silk properties.
The sari is very soft , light and airy . And very easy to handle. It is very lightweight .
The Sari has a plain blouse piece with a border.
The blouse and accessory on the mannequin are for image purposes only.
We try to capture the exact colours but due to lighting issues , there may be slight difference of colour between the actual product and that of the image. The yellow colour is on the brighter side .
