Tribal Design Cotton Mekhela Chador Set from Assam .
The set is woven in the very tradition design pattern of the tribal community known as Mishing . The design is known as "Gero " The chador part in these designs always have a mid section that falls on the front part when worn .
The set has cotton in the warp and weft and all motifs in acrylic / cotton .
The set is ideal for daywear or any other daytime occasion .
The Mekhla and Chador is a traditional 2 piece dress from the North East State of Assam, India . The Mekhla is appx 45" length and 36" width when stitched . It is worn as a skirt over the petticoat . The skirt will have pleats when worn. The top part or 'chadar ' is a shawl or half -sari which is used to cover the upper portion of the body and is worn on top of the mekhla or wrap. The usual size is 3 Meters long and about 36 inches in width.
The set is very light ,easy to handle and take care of .
Chador - Appx 2.80 meters
Blouse - Appx 1 meter.
Wash care - Hand wash only . Wash separately . Do not wring . Normal press .
Else Dry clean .
