The set has mulberry silk in the warp and weft and all interwoven motifs are in eri silk and golden zari.
Mulberry Silk is known as 'Pat Silk' locally . The set is beautifully woven with intricate motifs woven in a time consuming manner where the back side is also very clean and woven border.
The Mekhla and Chador is a traditional 2 piece dress from the North East State of Assam, India . The Mekhla is appx 1.20 Mt in length and 37" width when stitched. The Warp will have pleats when worn. The top part or 'chadar ' is a shawl or half -sari which is used to cover the upper portion of the body and is worn on top of the mekhla or wrap. The usual size is 3 Meters long and about 37 inches in width.
The Set comes with a contrast blouse piece with a border.
