The Mekhla and Chador is a traditional 2 piece dress from the North East State of Assam, India . The Mekhla is appx 1.20 Mt in length and 37" width when stitched. The Warp will have pleats when worn. The top part or 'chadar ' is a shawl or half -sari which is used to cover the upper portion of the body and is worn on top of the mekhla or wrap. The usual size is 2.80 to 3 Meters long and about 37 inches in width.
